Welcome to The Best Class
The name came from my 2nd graders in 2006. One afternoon a student said, “This is the best class.” I could tell the others agreed — not because they said it, but because of the smiles on their faces and the way they were completely locked into their learning. The name stuck.

​I’m Chase — a teacher who studies literacy and works to help children learn to read. This site is where I share ideas shaped by research and real classrooms. If it doesn't work with kids, you will not find it here.
